Pat McGinnis is a trial lawyer with over sixteen years of experience in federal and state district courts, representing victims of personal injury and product and premises liability, on-the-job injuries, and unfair or illegal business practices. In addition, his practice has expanded into areas of general business law and corporate litigation.

Mr. McGinnis has recently prepared and presented several seminars to local small business owners, church leaders, and medical practitioners related to unresolved loss-of-business/use damage claims filed with commercial insurers in the wake of Hurricane Rita. He is currently handling disputed claims with insurers for several Beaumont-area businesses, physician groups and individuals.

Pat first established himself as a personal injury trial attorney, and still devotes a significant portion of his practice to this, continuing to bring successful resolutions to and for his clients. He has litigated everything from relatively modest legal disputes between individuals to multi-million dollar claims filed against large corporations. Mr. McGinnis has litigated numerous personal injury and commercial litigation cases resulting in million dollar-plus verdicts and settlements.

Mr. McGinnis serves on the St. Jude Catholic Church Stewardship Committee and the Diocese of Beaumont Stewardship Committee. Additionally, Pat is general counsel for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Beaumont, Texas. He is a member of the Texas Diocesan Attorneys Association and the National Diocesan Attorneys Association. He has been a featured speaker at Continuing Legal Education conferences put on by the Texas Diocesan Attorneys Association in the area of construction law contracts between religious owners, architects and contractors. In April 2002, Mr. McGinnis spoke in Washington, D.C., to the National Diocesan Attorneys Association on the subject of American Institute of Architect Contracts between churches and architects and contractors.

In 2005, Pat completed requirements with the Texas Board of Legal Specialzation and was Board Certified in the practice of Personal Injury Trial Law.

Mr. McGinnis is a member of the Jefferson County Bar Association, the Texas Bar Association, the Bar Association of the Eastern District of Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Bar Association. Additionally, he is a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas. Mr. McGinnis also serves as Chairman of the State Bar of Texas District 3 Professionalism Enhancement Program Committee.

Mr. McGinnis graduated in 1988 from the University of Texas at Austin. He earned his J.D. from Texas Tech University in 1991. After graduation from law school, Pat served as Senior Briefing Attorney to the Honorable Joe J. Fisher, Chief Judge Emeritus of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. He is licensed to practice in Texas state court, as well as the federal district courts in the Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas, and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Pat McGinnis is a native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, Texas. He currently resides in Beaumont with his wife Sharon and two children. Pat is an avid youth soccer fan and coaches both of his daughters in soccer.
