Bad Faith Insurance Claims (Including for Hurricane Ike Damage, and Colorado and Oklahoma Tornado/Hail Damage)

Bad Faith Insurance Claims are those that arise when your insurance company delays payment of a claim or does not pay all of your claim.

Your home or business has been damaged by a hurricane, tornado, hail or fire. You immediately contact your insurance company and put them on notice of the claim. You expect they are going to run their business like you run your business or personal affairs. You expect to see immediate action to get your home or business back in order. Unfortunately, that has not been the experience of my clients. The insurance company delays everything and gives you low-ball offers to repair your home or business. You reach the point of ultimate frustration and despair when you look up months or even a year after the event that caused your damage and you have been paid only a fraction of what you are owed and it seems like the insurance company has forgotten you. No matter how much you cooperated, no matter how quickly you provided information they said they needed to settle your claim, the will not pay you. They will not return your calls.

If this has been your experience, or if you want to avoid this experience, contact me now so I can help you. The good news is that the Texas Insurance Code provides several protections for you. In Texas insurance companies have a duty to pay claims fully and in a timely manner. When they don't, they are not only liable for 100% of the damages, but also can be assessed 18% interest plus attorney fees for delay in payment. The insurance company can also be assessed up to 3 times the value of the claim as penalty damages. I am here to help you through your claim process. If your claim is not being given proper attention by your insurance company please contact me today.

I have represented hundreds of clients in the wake of Hurricane Rita and Hurricane Ike on all types of claims, from the simple homeowner case up to the multi-million dollar commercial building case. My firm and I are known throughout the Gulf South for aggressively representing clients with their insurance claims. I handle all of these claims on a contingent fee basis so my clients do not have to pay me a retainer or on an hourly basis. If you don’t get paid I don’t get paid.

If you believe that you have not received fair treatment from your insurance company after a hurricane, tornado, fire or other damage to your home or business contact me so that we may discuss your right and how I can help you. All meetings with me are free.
